Our Story
Our mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Our parents told us a few days ago. They asked us to come sit down at the dining room table. We thought something was going on because they both had been acting weird all
week. They were whispering to each other and they’d even stop talking when one of us walked into a room. When we sat down at the table, Mom looked so serious and Dad had his arm around her. We didn’t know what to expect. But, we NEVE
R imagined they would tell us mom had breast cancer. We were so shocked and scared. We both didn’t say a word and we were holding back tears. We’d always heard bad things about cancer and didn’t know what we were going to do.

The next day, we started to think about what we knew about breast cancer and it wasn’t very much at all. So, we started to do some research on the web, but there was just so much out there. Dad said that not all of
it is accurate or right for mom’s type of breast cancer. We want to learn more about breast cancer so we can help our mom. When our friend Mike’s mom was sick last year, they used this CaringBridge website to keep everyone updated on
her progress. Dad suggested we set-up a similar website to get help from our friends and family. He said Uncle Joe could help us to make it just for our friends and family. Since we’re twins, he wanted us to do it together.
We’ll be using the forum to give updates about mom. We’ll also be posting questions about breast cancer so check it out often. Thanks for your help! |
